The National Health Insurance (NHI) program was launched in 1995. The NHI is an integration of various social insurance systems at that time. The Bureau of National Health Insurance Kao-Ping Branch (hereinafter referred to as “Kao-Ping Branch”) was established on January 24, 1995. The Kao-Ping Branch undertakes business of promoting the NHI in Kaohsiung City, Kaohsiung County, Pingtung County, and Penghu County, and offers services to 3.26 million insured, 75,000 group insurance applicants, and 3,500 medical and healthcare institutions.
